The Bottomless Dozen 2016: MADE Bar & Kitchen @ The Roundhouse, Camden

Like a lot of people, the beginning of a new year for me means New Years' Resolutions! You know, the usual - swear less, drink less, work out more etc. etc. Well let me introduce you to the one resolution I have every intention of keeping this year - The Bottomless Dozen! My housemate had the genius idea of treating ourselves to a bottomless brunch once a month for every month of 2016. The rules are simple - the food must be delicious and brunch-worthy and the drinks must be plentiful and bottomless. Life sure is tough. First off the ranks is MADE Bar & Kitchen at The Roundhouse in Camden!

MADE offers a bottomless brunch with unlimited pastries, toast, tea & coffee in addition to all the Bloody Mary's and Bellinis you can consume in 2 hours for £27.50 + 12.5% service charge. You also get the choice of a main from their delicious brunch menu. It's a stupid amount of food and drink and you'll struggle to eat anything for the rest of the day so prepare yourself and dress in something with an elasticated waistband. Your food baby will thank you later. We started off with a couple of Bloody Mary's which were pretty great. Unfortunately, the following Bloody Mary's were a little lacklustre and needed a lot of pep in the form of some generous splashes of Tabasco. In the interest of science, I also tried one of the Bellinis. Don't. They were pretty bloody awful so I would definitely suggest sticking to the Mary's.

The lovely staff at MADE drop off a cake stand stacked high with carby goodness - waffles, pain au chocolate, croissants, raisin escargots and this amazing seeded toast. You also get the usual breakfast accoutrements; jam, butter, Nutella and Marmite (I finally tried it! Vegemite 4 lyfe kids!). If you still find yourself peckish after finishing this, you're able to have it replenished but trust me, one between two is plenty! The waffles were a little stale but everything else was gorge. Yum!

My housemate opted for the Shakshuka with two huge Merguez sausages. Served in a big pan (which was a little unwieldy, if you ask me) it looked and smelled incredible. It's a huge serving and you have to really love tomatoes if you're going to polish off the whole thing (especially with those Bloody Mary's adding to your lycopene intake!).

I went for the Potato Rosti with avocado, fried eggs and chorizo. This thing was SO good. Very rich but totally delicious. Would have been better with slices of real avocado over avocado cream but still really yummy. I'd definitely get this again. The service is super friendly and unobtrusive which, at brunch, is always welcome. The food wasn't the best brunch I've had in London but it's definitely tasty and worth the trip up to Camden. All in all, MADE warrants 3 bottoms out of 5!
