Where to Wet Your Whistle - The London Edition

The Little Yellow Door
This fun bar is hidden away behind a - you guessed it! - little yellow door on Notting Hill Gate. Decked out like your cool older brother's apartment, it's a sweet little spot to down a few cocktails and dance the night away! Like any house party though, the sound system isn't great and there's not a lot of space but you'll definitely have a good time.

My Favourite London Restaurants...So Far

I goddamn love food. And London is goddamn great at food. There's always some sexy new restaurant opening, bizarre high concept food popup or super hip(ster) street food thing happening in this mad, glorious city. Over the last year, I've cultivated a few favourites. Keep reading after the jump to witness me wax lyrical over these tasty treats.

The Bottomless Dozen 2016: MADE Bar & Kitchen @ The Roundhouse, Camden

Like a lot of people, the beginning of a new year for me means New Years' Resolutions! You know, the usual - swear less, drink less, work out more etc. etc. Well let me introduce you to the one resolution I have every intention of keeping this year - The Bottomless Dozen! My housemate had the genius idea of treating ourselves to a bottomless brunch once a month for every month of 2016. The rules are simple - the food must be delicious and brunch-worthy and the drinks must be plentiful and bottomless. Life sure is tough. First off the ranks is MADE Bar & Kitchen at The Roundhouse in Camden!

Review: Bread In Common, Fremantle

Just a quick one today! Last weekend, my friend S and I met up in Freo for a quick bite to eat before a wander around the markets. I'd heard only good things about Bread In Common so I was keen to check them out! Read on for my review!

Review: OCC Lip Tars in Queen & Pretty Boy

When you stalk as many beauty blogs as I do, you start to notice trends amongst the products reviewed/swatched. Urban Decay Naked palettes, Ciate Nail Art Kits, Stila Foil Finish Eyeshadows... the list goes on! Such was the case with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars. Fellow beauty addicts will relate: when you're lemming for a product this hard; nothing, not shipping restrictions, not customs tax, nothing can get in the way of you getting your grubby little hands on your precious! So you can understand my utter joy when I discovered these beauties in the Bellabox Shop. Not only that, I had a discount code; SCORE! I ordered these maybe a week or so before Christmas and to my delight, they turned up just a few days later. Bellabox for the win! I purchased two shades; Queen (neon red coral) and Pretty Boy (rich fuchsia). Read on for the swatches and review.

Birthday Lunch @ C Restaurant

Hey folks! Long time, no see! Like most of you, I've had a very busy couple of weeks, what with Christmas and all that jazz. In my self imposed blog absence, I also did a nifty thing and turned 25! I'm finally smack bang in the middle of my twenties and to celebrate my lovely family took me out to a fancy lunch at C Restaurant in the CBD. For those of you that don't know, C Restaurant is Perth's only revolving restaurant and it's located at the top of St Martin's Tower and provides a truly excellent 360ยบ view of the city. It was quite fashionable back in its heyday in the middle of the 90's mining boom. The restaurant has all the typical WA fine dining tropes; French waiters, an excellent wine list and 3 different types of steak. We had the two course luncheon ($55/head) as the dessert selection sounded a little lacklustre to be honest. Pictured above is my baby brother's entree; Butter poached Manjimup marron tail, served with quinoa salad, mango relish, seared scallop and cilantro pesto. As you can see, the dish was visually stunning, and according to baby bro, the mango relish was delish!

Revlon 2013 Spring/Summer Collection Colorburst Lip Butter Review - Sorbet & Wild Watermelon

Just a quick one today! I recently picked up these two lovelies during one of my ritual Priceline binges and fell in love almost immediately. I was already a big fan of the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters and these two shades from the 2013 Spring/Summer Collection are utterly perfect for the warmer weather now upon us! Wild Watermelon (left) is a lovely bright pink/orange that builds up to opacity in just a few swipes. Sorbet is an intense blue based fuchsia that again, can be layered for an opaque colour. Both shades are sheer cremes that don't have any shimmer or glitter. They kind of remind me of jelly! Read on for swatches.

Nude is the new black

Confession time. I'm a little over nail art. There, I said it. I'm just too impatient to spend hours painstakingly drawing unicorns on my nails these days. I do love the old accent nail though, which is as easy as unscrewing another bottle of nail polish. What I'm also a big fan of, is nude nail polish. I mean, just check out my girl Rihanna up there with her adorable beige talons. Gorgeous. Nude nails are definitely having their moment in the sun after years of being shunted to the side as the supporting act to a French manicure. Nude nails, unlike dark, vampy colours, look great on both long and short nails. When I say nude nails I think of colours that are either delicate and whispery or shades similar to your own skin tone which have the miraculous ability to lengthen the look of your hands and make them look super elegant. Think mannequin hands. Okay, maybe that's not the best image to sway your opinion but trust me, nude is the new black. Read on for swatches of my favourite nude shades.

Review: Miss Kitty's Saloon

Last night my friend A and I ventured out to the wilds of Inglewood for a long overdue catch up and to check out the western themed restaurant du jour; Miss Kitty's Saloon. The restaurant is about 10-15 minutes out of the city and there's a parking lot behind the complex as well as lots of street parking. The menu is quite small and features a LOT of pork and deep fried decadence. It is a Canadian/American inspired bar so when in Rome... order the Chilli Cheese Fries! The menu had quite a few tapas-esque dishes to encourage sharing so that's exactly what we did!

September BellaBox Review

So I've been suffering from a bit of the old writer's block and as such, have been super lazy with my blogging lately. My bad! Anyway... here is the very late review of the September BellaBox. BellaBox subscriptions are AUD$15/month and in my opinion, are great value! This month's box was in partnership with Cleo Magazine in preparation of the warmer party season. The packaging for this month's box wasn't as slick as Lust Have It's August box but that may have been down to the fact that there was so much stuff jammed in there! I received a Schick Hydro Razor, the current issue of Cleo Magazine, a full size Ambre Solaire Self Tanning Spray, Manicare GlamEyes false lashes, Elegant Touch Nail Wraps, Footcare Gel Pads, a Montagne Jeunesse Mud Pack sample and an ASAP Pure Mineral Lip Liner. This box was particularly great because it was full of things that I use in my regular beauty routine anyway (self tanner, false lashes, gel pads etc). Read on for the rest of my review.

August Lust Have It Box Review

In anticipation of the upcoming arrival of my inaugural BellaBox, I thought I'd post a review of the August Lust Have It beauty box that I bought a few weeks ago. I actually placed the order for a Lust Have It box last month but it was unfortunately lost in the mail. Luckily, their fantastic customer service department quickly fixed that and re-sent my order.
The box was beautifully packaged in an aqua coloured gift box with all the goodies nestled in swathes of black tissue paper. I received a good mix of cosmetics, skincare and haircare; I also received 2 full size products! (Clockwise from top left): La Roche Posay Thermal Spring Water, La Roche Posay Lipikar Body Balm, Revlon Nearly Naked Sampler, KMS Californa Add Volume Volumizing Spray, Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Under 18 (Full Size), Revlon PhotoReady Skinlights Illuminator (Full Size), KMS California Free Shape Conditioner, LUSH Gorgeous Facial Moisturiser.

Review: Daily Planet Bar & Cafe

On Tuesday, my friend J and I ventured out in the rain in search of lunch. I originally wanted to try Miss Kitty's Saloon in Inglewood but I, being the donut I am, didn't realise they weren't open for lunch!  J suggested we hotfoot it over to Daily Planet, the new cafe adjoining Planet Books in Mount Lawley.

Review: The Beach Club at Cottesloe Beach Hotel

Not sure if you've been to the revamped Cottesloe Beach Hotel but let me tell you now... it is absolutely GORGEOUS! A few years back, a younger version of myself used to spend every other Sunday afternoon whiling away the hours in the 'Cott's' infamous beer garden after a terribly trying day of sunning myself on the famous Cottesloe Beach. It was a hard life.

Review: The Burger Bistro Leederville

Yesterday, baby bro and I were on a mission to pick up and deliver some delicious baked goodies from Top The Cupcake and on our way home we stopped by Leederville to grab some nosh. It was crazy windy and raining so we ducked into The Burger Bistro and settled in for lunch.

Review - Tuck Shop Cafe, Pie-House and Delicatessen

My friend A and I decided to go to lunch today and she recommended we go to Tuck Shop Cafe in Northbridge. It's a great little cafe far removed from the hustle and bustle of Northbridge's main drag. Despite being tucked away on the quieter end of Newcastle Street, there were plenty of punters to keep the cafe busy!
